Matching Socks

The humourist Peter Cook's later years were chaotic. A degree of order was furnished by Lin Chong (1945-2016), who became his third wife. Prior to their marriage she would visit his home and try to steer it towards some domestic order. She discovered that he had numerous socks but only two matching pairs.
